We have been working very hard to get the land for a park. However, the city has been working for seven (7) years acquiring the land and convert the mixed used property to single family residental. We have been informed that the city has no room to negotiate on releasing even a portion of the property for the park.
There is a silver lining. We have been requested to provide a wish list of items for improveing the Glenwood Triangle.

About...
The Forest Hill Park Association (FHPA) was founded October 21, 2008 as a community preservation group. The driving force behind this group is a civic concern for the future plans of locally vacant land. The FHPA wishes to partner with the city of Akron in establishing a park in the area of Dan Street, East to Damon Street, and Evans Avenue, South to Hollibaugh Street. This park will serve the needs of the Forest Hill area which now has no such park for it's residents to enjoy. The park will be dedicated to veterans of Forest Hill, who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. There is also a historical value to this area, since it was once traversed by the Mountain Line Trolley which connected the area to downtown Akron. We wish to add playground equipment for the children, an illuminated flagpole and plaque, benches, and picnic tables. This park will be the focal point of the area and foster community identity.
